HEB and Costa Solutions Costa Solutions team members were proud to join one of our exclusive partners in the festivities of their annual community event, Feast of Sharing. The holiday event took place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention center on Saturday, December 19, 2015. Thousands of volunteers came together on this special day to serve a holiday meal to hungry, lonely, elderly or indigent individuals and their families. The annual event is sponsored by H-E-B and is often called H-E-B’s gift to the community. The Feast of Sharing is the culmination of a year round commitment H-E-B makes to fighting hunger.

The Feast of Sharing event started in Laredo in 1989 and has grown to serve 250,000 dinners in 33 locations across Texas and in Mexico. For this year’s San Antonio Dinner, more than 2,500 H-E-B and community volunteers served over 15,000 guests. Just one Feast of Sharing event equals: 3000 pounds of sliced turkey, 2500 pounds of dressing, 380 gallons of mashed potatoes and over 750 pumpkin pies. In addition to the meal, families enjoyed music, arts and crafts as well as children’s activities.

This is the 4th year Costa Solutions team members have joined this community outreach event in the fight against hunger. It has always been a meaningful volunteer experience for the Costa team.

A spokesman for the group stated, “Volunteers are the key to bringing the magic to this wonderful day. The Volunteer Center at United Way and the Feast of Sharing Leadership Committee work hard to ensure that the right number of volunteers are in the right place at the right time, and to make your experience gratifying and memorable. The Volunteer Center wishes to thank all the volunteers who make this event possible.”
