Last week, as part of our ongoing mission to thrive as a company and as a force for positive service to our partners and our community, more than 40 Costa Solutions team members attended the annual Global Leadership Summit produced by Willow Creek Association, a leadership group that serves pastors and community leaders.
The Global Leadership Summit is telecast every August from Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois to hundreds of locations in North America. The goal is positive community transformation, and this is the fourth year Costa Solutions has participated in the event.
More than 180,000 leaders attended this year’s Summit in 125-plus countries. Independent research shows that 83 percent of leaders who attended the Summit in consecutive years experienced improved teamwork, increased job satisfaction and productivity. Costa is delighted to be a part of this transformative, educational and motivational event focused on service to our communities and to God.
Gary Schwammlein, president of Willow Creek Association, had the following to say about event participants:
“You are part of a global community comprised of pastors, educators, students, parents and ministry, marketplace and social sector leaders. For more than 20 years, it has been our privilege to serve leaders like you who are committed to pursuing your God-inspired grander visions.”
The Summit is an opportunity for Costa to invest in its teammates as individuals and is in alignment with company missions, values and vision—all of which makes the team thrive together.
Costa’s Chief Operations Officer, Josh Wean, reiterated that Costa Solutions strongly believes in the importance of investing in its team and in encouraging and equipping leaders for the future.
“The Global Leadership Summit plays a significant role to help accomplish this goal,” Wean said. “Bringing 40-50 of our key staff and leadership team each year helps motivate, inspire, align together in our vision for growth, serve our customers better, and bring excellence in our work. Each year our team looks forward to this event, and we come away refreshed.”
Over the two-day event, Costa employees enjoyed presentations by such notable speakers as Melinda Gates of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; Alan Mulally, president and chief executive officer, Ford Motor Co., 2006-2014; T.D. Jakes, founder and senior pastor, The Potter’s House; and several authors, consultants and business and church leaders.
